World class violinist/recording artist Theresa Ellis plays healing resonances from many genres, classical to country, is skilled and shows versatility with many styles, and has an impressive eclectic menu of music to choose from. She also does vocals with guitar, and specialized innovative arrangements using Celtic roots. Theresa hails from Detroit, migrated south to Nashville, Tennessee and has performed with many famous musicians over the past 35 years. Classically trained, she attended Indiana University School of Music, and graduated from University of Utah, where she was involved with Electronic Music technology studies, and Electro-acoustic combinations as well as Zeta MIDI Violin. In her performances she uses acoustic and electric violins, a five string violin-viola, and sometimes uses a Loop Station, a Whammy, and a Line6 Stompbox. Ellis wrapped up the concert with futuristic instruments producing a music that, while definitely Celtic, took enough twists to put a cork-screw to shame.” Pat Knoell, Geneva Times. Her string quartet called String Zing! was featured at a luncheon with His Holiness Dalai Lama, and for the Honoring/Farewell Reception for Mitt Romney, Winter Olympics 2002.
So which will it be: violin or fiddling styles? The contemporary fiddlist was hounded even by her father to make the choice, but she plays it all.

Martha Colby scrapes glides and plucks her way like a flame. She is a singing cellist songwriter a little off from center, and definitely worth listening to. Her music starts from an acoustic background, and often moves into a jazz or rock jam, with lyrics that are emotionally, politically or environmentally poignant. Her debut album, Across Two Rivers, appears on the LWR Productions label, as well as her collaboration with Steve Raleigh, Christmas Present. When she is not performing on her own, she can be found performing with such groups as: the chamber pop band October Project, a duo with pianist/singer Anna Dagmar, numerous other singer-songwriters, and was principle cellist of the Hudson Opera Theater as well as the NJ Pops Orchestra while being a resident of NYC. A recipient of the Joe Venuti Jazz Masters Award and several Meet the Composer grants, Martha has worked with world-renowned musicians including Matt Glaser, Billy Hart, and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
Martha and Theresa met on a bus in Detroit on their way to see Lynn Harrell perform with the Detroit Symphony. After chatting for a good bit, a visit to Utah and a concert was arranged. They are now combining their vast array of backgrounds and diverse musical skills to see what kind of alchemy they can come up with. Algie Powers is best recognized from the seat belt commerical campaign "Hold On To Dear Life." Her vocals also appear on many favorite recordings by well-loved songwriters such as Michael McLean, Janice Kapp Perry and Kurt Bestor. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to parents who had just emmigrated from Lithuania, Algie could always hear the harmony parts to every song she heard. Her natural musical talent helped her to teach herself the guitar in highschool, setting her on an amazing musical journey. She didn't even realize she was a gifted songwriter until well into her adult years. Algie's mellow alto voice and folky songs have earned her many loyal fans, some even searching for her for over 10 years, never forgetting "that voice," and being delighted to finally find her online at www.algie.com.
Her recent historical pieces,"Teachings of the Trek" and "Martin's Cove" tell the stories of the pioneers. These wonderful songs have earned her many new fans who have delighted in using the songs in their Pioneer Trek experiences. Recently Martin's Cove invited her to present her songs at the historical location during their trek orientation, demonstrating to the trek leaders the power of song to touch with the Spirit. Algie's music will touch you down to the core.
